چکیده

Abstract Background Cogan’s anterior internuclear ophthalmoplegia (INO) is characterized by INO with inability to converge and commonly thought be due rostral midbrain lesion. A lesion outside that causes unilateral combined upgaze palsy ataxia are rarely described. Case presentation 67-year old male presented left (INO), appendicular bilateral palsy. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Angiography (MRA) brain showed a dorsal tegmental infarct at the level of pontomesencephalic junction. Conclusions This case highlights clinical importance in combination ataxia, report possible site patients such constellation. Clinicians should consider looking for cerebellar signs cases INO, apart from just considering localizing midbrain.

Unilateral Internuclear Ophthalmoplegia after Minor Head Injury

Internuclear ophthalmoplegia is a rare condition caused by injury to the medial longitudinal fasciculus in the brainstem. It usually occurs in conditions such as stroke or multiple sclerosis and is extremely rare after head injury. We report a case of unilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia, which occurred after a minor head injury in a young male. His only symptoms were headache and diplopia. ...

Minor head trauma and isolated unilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia.

Internuclear ophthalmoplegia is a syndrome that develops due to a lesion of the medial longitudinal fasciculus. This lesion is mostly caused by multiple sclerosis (usually bilaterally), and only rarely by head injury. A case is presented of unilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia as an isolated sequel of minor head trauma, which eventually resolved. A 40-year-old woman with isolated internuclea...

PURPOSE To report a case of pure isolated unilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia from ischemic stroke, and to review its literature. METHODS A 55-year old man, with a history of long-standing diabetes mellitus, developed acute-onset left internuclear ophthalmoplegia. MRI revealed a small paramedian dorsal pontine infarct ventral and lateral to the aquaductus cerebri. Intracranial MR angiogra...

A Case of Traumatic Unilateral Internuclear Ophthalmoplegia: Clinical Significance of Susceptibility-Weighted Imaging

A 43-year-old man was admitted for head trauma after falling backward. The patient complained of diplopia. Unilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia (INO) was diagnosed during the neurologic examination. Initially, no specific finding was shown on T2-weighted, T1-weighted, and fluid attenuated inversion recovery brain magnetic resonance image (MRI) or brain computed tomography (CT). However, susc...
